Ed is an Austin-based attorney and partner in the law firm of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, where he practices technology and intellectual property law.

His clients include companies in the software, Internet, e-commerce and video game industries. For those companies, he advises on complex technology-heavy transactions and also litigates patent, trademark, copyright and general business disputes.

In addition to his law practice, Ed is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas School of Law, where he currently teaches a course on “The Law of Software, Video Games and Interactive Entertainment.”

Ed co-authored “Cyberspace and the Law: Your Rights and Duties in the On-line World” which was published by MIT Press and, as one of the first books to address Internet legal issues, received the Association of American Publishers’ Best New Professional and Scholarly Book — Computer Science Award in 1994.

Fun Fact:

Ed was detained at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport and interrogated by Israeli security on suspicion of being a terrorist. Thankfully, it was all a big mistake.
